It depends on the service and your vehicle. Window tint and detailing are often done the same day, while a full PPF install or paint correction and ceramic coating can take a few days. We'll give you a clear timeline during your consultation, and we offer a courtesy loaner vehicle at no charge while your car is with us.

Instead, we do a real consultation, inspect your car, and give you a detailed estimate. The price on your estimate is the price you pay. No bait and switch, and nothing gets added unless you ask for it.

In California, front side windows must let in at least 70% of light (film and factory glass combined), the windshield can only have non-reflective tint on the top 4 inches, and rear side and back windows can be any darkness if the vehicle has dual side mirrors. Wash every one to two weeks with a pH-neutral soap and a soft microfiber mitt, and dry right away. If you use a pressure washer, stay about two feet back and never spray directly into a film edge. Avoid brush car washes, polishing compounds, and harsh chemicals. Keeping the film clean is the best way to prevent haze, staining, and discoloration.

The LLumar paint protection film we install carries a 12-year warranty covering manufacturing defects such as yellowing, cracking, bubbling, peeling, staining, and loss of self-healing. Like all film warranties, it doesn't cover impact damage, accidents, or damage from improper care. When a rock hits the film instead of your paint, that's the film doing its job.

For most drivers who plan to keep their car a few years, yes. A professional coating adds deep gloss, UV protection, and makes washing dramatically easier. It won't stop rock chips (that's what PPF is for), and it still needs regular washing. We offer Veros ceramic coatings from 1 to 9 years, with packages starting at $349.

Paint protection film (PPF) is a thick, clear, self-healing film that physically stops rock chips, scratches, and stains. Ceramic coating is a liquid layer that bonds to your paint for deep gloss, UV protection, and water-repellent, easy washing, but it won't stop rock chips. They work best together: PPF on the high-impact areas, and ceramic coating over the whole car, including on top of the film.

Yes. New doesn't mean flawless. Vehicles are often shipped unprotected and washed by lot attendants, which can leave swirl marks and contamination. We inspect the paint, correct any defects, and protect it with paint protection film and ceramic coating before the first rock chip. Our New Car Protection packages are built for exactly this.

Yes. Detail 2 U is fully licensed and carries both garage keepers insurance, which protects your vehicle while it's in our care, and general liability insurance. Before you let any shop work on your vehicle, make sure they can confirm both.
